1616-Cotswolds-Gin
To mark the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare, Cotswolds Distillery is getting ready to launch its new barrel-aged gin, 1616 Gin, on April 23rd. Founder and CEO of the Warwickshire-based distillery says of the gin, “it is made primarily with our own malt whisky spirit, it is triple-distilled with juniper and other select period botanicals and then barrel-aged in the same American oak ex-red wine casks we use to age our Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky,” expressing that these are a number of ‘gin firsts’ for the company. With a bottle label design based on The Tempest, just 2,000 bottles will be available for sale through the distillery’s online store as well as in a select few local establishments. So, for all the Shakespeare fans out there, make sure you get your hands on a bottle of this – it’s sure to take you right back to Shakespearean times.
