If you’re like us, avoiding needles and the scary “frozen face” from bad Botox is only slightly better than shelling out our drinking money for expensive creams and serums that are supposed to fight the affects of aging. But what if you could drink your way to a more youthful complexion? Suntory Brewery in Japan claims that its new beer, Precious, can make that happen. Following a fad in Japan of consuming collagen-rich supplements, powders, and foods, Suntory has 2 grams of collagen per can–and 5% alcohol.
Getting buzzed while fighting the effects of aging sounds pretty great, but the real benefits of consuming collagen haven’t been proven. Currently, the beer is only being sold in Hokkaido so we can’t try its miracle effects for ourselves but we’re all for avoiding needles and smearing pricey products on our face. Plus, enjoying a nice beer is sure to bring down our stress levels, even if that’s all it does.
Here’s to drinking ourselves prettier–and if it doesn’t work, we’ll just have another beer.
