Dust off those rags, and relive the magic of friendly mice, a fairy godmother, and true love. Cinderella has returned to theatres with Downton Abbey’s Lady Rose as the princess. Instead of playing it cool, we’re letting out a squeal of excitement, no shame here. Get the gals together, slip on your glass slippers, and indulge yourselves in a night at the theatre.

Everyone deserves to be a princess for a day (or everyday). Play dress up with these cocktails as a precursor to reliving your childhood. We have chosen only the prettiest cocktails “in all the land” to share with you. Note: pinkies must remain up at all times.

Enjoy! But remember, “the spell will be broken at midnight,” so drink wisely, or else you may wake up with a big mess to clean.

Raspberry Rose Fizz
For the advanced cocktail mixer
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz gin
3/4 oz liqueur framboise
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz raspberry syrup
3 drops rosewater
1 egg white
1 1/2 oz sparkling water
Rose petal for garnish

Add the egg white to your shaker and shake for 10 seconds without ice or any other ingredients. This will help you to create the lovely light foam that gives this drink its silky texture. Once you’ve agitated the egg white, fill your shaker with the remaining ingredients, except for the sparkling water. Add ice and shake vigorously for a full 30 seconds.

Once thoroughly shaken, add ice and the sparkling water to your glass and double-strain the shaker contents overtop. I like adding the sparkling water to the bottom of the glass, pouring overtop, so that the bubbles incorporate throughout the drink without stirring. Pink Salty Dog
For the average cocktail mixer
Ingredients:
Course salt, for rim of glass
Grapefruit slice, for garnish
1/3 cup freshly squeezed pink grapefruit
2 tbsp vodka
1 tbsp Campari liqueur, or grenadine
1 cup of ice cubes

Place salt in saucer. Moisten rim of the glass with grapefruit slice. Dip rim in salt. Combine juice and vodka with Campari or grenadine in the jar of a blender; blend. With the motor running, add ice until fully incorporated and slushy. Pour into prepared glass. Recipe found on marthastewart.com.
