Seaweed

Craft beer strikes again. The latest craze: Seaweed beer. Maine-based Marshall Wharf Brewing Co. debuted their version (appropriately named Sea Belt) just weeks ago. The beer is a combination of their MacFindlay Scotch Ale brewed with dried Maine sugar kelp and we’re interested in hearing the reviews. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard mention of seaweed making waves in the craft beer community, but we have a feeling it’s going to be more popular this time around. Not to mention that drinking your kelp may even provide some extra heath benefits, bonus.

If you’re as excited about trying this as we are, take a trip to Marshall Wharf to test it out. Located in Belfast Maine, they offer quite a selection. Be sure to check out their site for the tasting room hours and drink menu.
