CorksDIY

If you’re anything like us, you love your wine and feel this weird connection to the wine corks. They almost seem too fancy to just throw away once the bottle has been emptied, so we let them pile up in a corner of our countertop. We don’t use them for anything, but tossing them feels sacrilegious, ya know?

Luckily, the always resourceful Pinterest community has plenty of creative ideas for giving those wine corks a second life. If you’re looking for a fun, easy crafting project to work on this summer, you’ve come to the right place! In true Pinterest style, a lot of the coolest projects we’ve found either a) don’t link to the right page, or b) link to an Etsy page where you can buy it, so you may need to use these pictures as inspiration and then figure out how to make them happen.

Countertop Pot Holder

This seems really easy and totally practical. Find a frame in any shape you like and then hot glue the wine corks into it. This will create a nice space where you can put hot dishes without worrying about them damaging your countertop.

Backboard for Dart Playing

Does your guy want to add a dart board to his man cave, but you’d rather not have him poke a million holes in the wall due to his horrible aim? Check out this cool tutorial that uses your stash of wine corks to protect your wall from runaway darts.

Wine Cork Monogram Letter

People seem to love decorating their homes with random letters – usually the first letter of their last name – so this project just kicks it up a notch. Go out and buy whichever letter you want to hang up and then hot glue the wine corks to the letter. Make sure they’re standing up vertically when you glue them on so you get the full effect.

Wine Cork Necklace Rack

We have a million loose necklaces all tangled up, so we’re definitely making this necklace rack. You just need some pretty ribbon and a bit of simple hardware you can find at your local craft store.
