Mai-Tai-01

This weekend we plan on mixing up rum cocktails and pretending it’s summer time. Our favorite tiki cocktail, the Mai Tai, literally means “very good” in Tahitian and we couldn’t say it better ourselves.

We prefer fresh ingredients in our Mai Tai so make sure you stock up on plenty of juice and fruit.

  • 1 oz. light rum
  • ½ oz. triple sec
  • ¼ oz. lime juice
  • 1 ½ oz. pineapple juice
  • 1 ½ oz. orange juice
  • Dash of grenadine
  • ½ oz. dark rum
  • Cherry and pineapple wedge for garnish

Pour all the ingredients except the dark rum into a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into an old-fashioned glass. Top with the dark rum and garnish with pineapple wedge and cherry.

How do you make your Mai Tai?
