smirnoffsorbetSmirnoff entered the low-cal drinking world this week with the launch of Smirnoff Sorbet Light. The new product is aimed to impress those of us that like to enjoy dessert without the guilt of eating a pint of ice cream. With only 78 calories per serving, the liquid dessert will come in Raspberry Pomegranate, Mango Passionfruit and Lemon. Like we said last week, you can have your cake and drink it too.

Drinking mysterious grain alcohol out of a mason jar is sketchy. We’re not trying to deny it, but Firefly is working on changing our minds. The sweet tea vodka kings have announced their new Firefly Moonshine and we’re intrigued. Available in flavors like Apple Pie and Peach we know its not actually “moonshine,” but flavored white whiskey. Right now, it’s exclusively available at the distillery but should be appearing on shelves in the next month or so.

Everyone’s favorite cheap vodka is trying to class it up this spring. Burnett’s is releasing a new package design that will give the brand a more upscale and quality look, while keeping the cheapo price. In addition to the makeover, Burnett’s is also launching two new flavors: Cherry Cola and Strawberry Banana. The new packaging and flavors will debut later this month. It’s not usually our go-to vodka but maybe we should give Burnett’s another try.

We’ve always loved Heaven Hill spirits and their quality. We were saddened to hear the news that Parker Beam, master distiller at Heaven Hill, has been diagnosed with ALS. To support Beam, Heaven Hill will be donating $20 of every bottle sold of their new Parker’s Heritage Collection Bourbon to the Parker Beam Promise of Hope Fund in support of ALS research.
