whole_bottleThis tequila is not for the faint of heart.

Introducing Ghost Tequila, the new spirit from Boston mixologist Chris Moran. “Ghost” is a mix of 100% agave tequila from Jalisco, Mexico and the insanely spicy Indian Ghost Pepper.

Moran’s inspiration dates back to his days working at the popular Tequila Bar “Tico” in Boston’s Back Bay. There he became an expert in making spicy margaritas. “Ghost” was born from those experiments, and could just be the hottest drink on the market.

The ghost pepper is 400 times hotter than tabasco sauce and has a Scoville rating (pepper spicy-ness rating) of more than 1 million units. Only the Carolina Reaper is hotter, at 2.2 million units.

Right now, Ghost is available in several bars in Boston and New Orleans, and Moran plans to expand the brand’s reach quickly. For those looking for a cocktail with a big kick, try Ghost Tequila in a spicy marg or a Bloody Maria. (Gif)
